Live and Local Bands
This is great opportunity to listen to live, local talent, Jarrod Shaw (singer/songwriter) and Moosejaw Rifle Club (local band). Grab some friends, pack a picnic, thrown in a blanket, some cushions and enjoy free local live music under the trees. Jarrod Shaw possesses a passion and appreciation for blues music that becomes obvious from the moment the first note sounds. He delivers a soulful blues-inspired show, performed with conviction. Born and raised in country Victoria, down the dirt roads of the Macedon Ranges, he taught himself to play guitar listening to the renowned blues greats, as well as the icons of the Australian and local Melbourne blues scene. The Moosejaw Rifle Club was formed in 2008 at a friend’s party when a disgruntled neighbour pulled the circuit breaker out of the power board to kill the music. Acoustic instruments were found and played and the band was formed. Arriving at their name following a rigorous process involving names in a hat and the voting say so of many interested and not so interested friends, the band began writing songs that initially largely told the history of the 33,000 person strong Saskatchewan town in Canada, Moose Jaw.
