Wovenspoke Textile Repurposing Workshop #1
Circle Work is a series of workshops run by Wovenspoke that take end-of-life textiles and materials donated by the Kyneton community and repurpose them into functional well-designed seating for future OKPS community events. The project will engage the local community to rethink waste and how we can reframe it as a useful resource through a series of fun and informative workshops for children, youth and adults. On this first workshop day children will learn about upcycling, recycling and fun ways to mend textiles and how this can save useful materials from landfill. They will identify woven textiles and sort clean second-hand clothing according to colour and material composition and prepare fabric to then make into pattern pieces for the final seating designs.
